Evaluation 1- Music Video Conventions

In what ways do your media products use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

1. Close up, Centre frame

In order to reflect real media products we shot our video using professional looking shots and having our lead centre frame. this reflects most pop videos with female artists and choreography (the lead is usually in the middle of the frame and includes lots of close ups as she is supposed to be the main focus.

2. Abstract Clothing

Our costumes were also very important in creating a certain image that the audience would buy into in the same way they buy in to professional artists. For example, Miley Cyrus has a strong image of a "bad girl" and this is portrayed through the clothing she wears. We were going for a more "out of this world/abstract' feel so we dressed our females in a variety of colours and outfits.

3. Dance Routine

By including a choreographed dance routine, it added that extra element of professionalism as it added another concept to our video which is very common in the industry. A dance routine adds more interest and means that the audience doesn't become bored of just watching the artist sing.
