My third idea is a music video to the song Dragons by Princess Nokia.
I like this song because it is very modern and alternative which contrasts perfectly to my ideas for the video. My main inspiration is the music video by Erykah Badu ''love of my life''. I love the costumes in this video and the way in which it is filmed and I think it would be really cool to recycle this style with a modern twist and a recently produced song.
The song Love of My life Erykah Badu falls under the genres of hip hop/ Rnb/ neo soul/ funk. I think the song in itself would be impossible to recreate but the image the song is portraying would be interesting to use as inspiration.
Although the lead singer in both videos is black I would like to bring in an element of multiculturalism by having girls of many different nationalities to break down stereotypes linking to the 21st century song.In my video I would like:
-girls writing lyrics in their apartment to match a very specific era
-funky clothing
-powerful confident women
-scenes outside of the studio to represent real life
Lucy you post some great visual images which are indicative of the themes/ motifs of the music video that you want to produce. You will develop your points if you develop the key practise of adding bullet point annotations to the images you use. This would add more depth to the points that you want to make. Well done nonetheless.
