ASAP ROCKY VS. THE ROLLING STONES

HIP HOP VS. ROCK N ROLL

There are many differences between the two websites. The Rolling Stones are one of the most world renowned rock n' roll bands. Originating in the 60s,  The Stones have an incredibly authentic rock image. This is obvious in layout and themes within the website. There is a lot of black, red and white. The red and white colors link to the British flag which highlights the British rock theme, whilst the black highlights the dark elements to rock.  The Rolling Stones are a heavily established band which is clear on the website as there is such a vast amount of information.

To contrast the rolling stones website I chose someone who i think is polar opposite to 60s rock band; ASAP rocky. ASAP rocky is a rapper who is part of an era whereby it is hard to differentiate from all the other rappers. I think that the dark colors and the bold simplistic writing reflects ASAPs style. There is not much detail which suggests he is someone that likes his music to talk for him rather then him image. On the other hand the background image is very creative in the way that it is almost like a piece of art rather then an image to promote an artist. This reflects a new era of artists who must have more to them then talent such as a 'cool' image.
