Evaluation Task 5- How did you attract/address your audience?

HOW DID YOU ATTRACT/ADDRESS YOUR AUDIENCE?

Our thriller target audience is male from the ages of 18-25 and myself and my group think that according to stereotypes, the following things that feature in our film will address and attract our target audience: 

Firstly both of our actors are within the age group of our target audience so it allows the audience to relate to the characters. Our thriller also involves conventions of crime, action and thriller such as guns, hitmen, cars and murder which is stereotypically a common interest of young men. Our murder also involves blood which is something that men may enjoy when watching a thriller

I would classify our thriller subgenera as a crime thriller which is definitely something that would attract our target audience. Films we were inspired by which our audience would also enjoy would be Taken, run all night and dexter.

Our settings was in an eery, isolated forrest which is a scary setting but also creates a thrilling murder as it was in broad daylight which shows the Hitman, played by mike, had no fear of being seen committing a crime. 

Our story outline is basically about a hitman holding a teenage boy hostage in a car and then escorting him in to the forrest and murdering him in broad day light. This story line would appeal to our target audience as it is a typical narrative about a hitman being ordered to kill a teenage boy. The Hitman is portrayed as a sinister man which may interest our audience. Although our thriller follows a linear narrative which may be considered as boring, it will grab the attention of our target audience as a result of the unexpected murder at the start. 

For our thriller the most important sound was to include the gun shot as it was the moment in our thriller, where are target audience would be gripped. Apart from that we don't have music as it wouldn't suit the isolated setting. We do have some ambient sound which creates a realistic setting. 

If we could have one star in our thriller id say it would have to be liam neeson, as he is the actor that we told our actor playing the hit-man to base his character on. Liam neeson is also an actor who is really appreciated by our target audience. 

It would be amazing to have Warner Bros institutional logo to represent us as warner brothers is known for many action/thrillers such as The Dark Knight Rises. This means that if Warner Bros represented us our target audience would want to see our film, knowing that we have been made my the same company as the likes of Batman.

Overall I think that we successfully represented some thriller conventions. For example, with our Hitman we selected an actor with big physical presence and an intimidating look. This fit the perfect stereotype in order to attract our target audience.
