I think that the characters are similar in that they both have a very stern tone of voice and don't reveal many emotions.
A particular scene that we can relate to our thriller is the phone call scene as we are planning to include a similar scene in our thriller which we hope mike will resemble Liam Neeson in many ways.
We found that the TV series, Dexter opening sequence is also similar to our idea. Dexter is a hit TV show that began in 2006 and was created by James Manos Jr. I think that our thriller idea is similar to the opening sequence of Dexter in many ways. Both include a murder which begins in the setting of a car. The opening sequence of Dexter begins with the hit-man/murderer sitting behind the victim in the car which is similar layot to ours. The characters both have similar personas in that the "bad guy" in both are stern and emotionless whereas, the victim is terrified.
The way in which they differ is the lighting, our sequence is going to be shot in broad daylight as we want to show how fearless and professional the hit-man is by killing something despite the risk of someone seeing them. The murders are also different in that the murder in Dexter is more brutal and involves a knife being cut into a mans face whereas we are planning for our murder to take place in a Forrest with a simple gun shot. is done by a simple gun shot.
Another film which has similarities to our thriller idea is Leon The Professional, a film made in 1994. The director was Luc Besson and the cast includes actors such as Natalie Portman.
The similarities are that the two main characters consist of an adult and a child/teenager.
The differences are that in Leon the adult and child form a close relationship whereas we are planning on our characters not knowing each other before the day of the murder. The characters also differ in that the younger actor (Natalie Portman) is a female and is much younger then the teenage boy that will be in ours. The hit-men also differ in that our hit-man is going to be very British whereas the character playing Leon is not.
